This is Takeshi GOTO. We are non-profit organization and provides experimental internet connectivity to individuals and non-profit organizations interested in network technologies. We are deeply grateful to FLEXOPTIX, a German optical transceiver manufacturer FLEXOPTIX, has generously donated optical transceivers and FLEXBOX to support this initiative.
FLEXOPTIX offers a wide range of universal transceivers, supporting speeds from 1G to 800G. Using their dedicated FLEXBOX system, they can reconfigure transceivers for various vendor. We were able to demonstrate this reconfiguration feature at FLEXOPTIX’s booth during JANOG56. Simply select the desired module configuration through the dedicated app and insert it into the FLEXBOX - the module settings are automatically updated. Since we are using Juniper routers, we selected the Juniper-specific configuration and reconfigured all modules accordingly.
Below is a screenshot of reconfigurating a transceiver for Juniper using actual donated FLEXBOX devices. On the app, select “Juniper” as the vendor and choose your desired compatibility (Article Number / Compatibility).
After inserting the transceiver into FLEXBOX and pressing the “START RECONFIGURATION” button, the reconfiguration was completed instantly.
We sincerely thank everyone at FLEXOPTIX for this generous donation. Our organization will continue supporting support young engineers involved in global AS operations and contributing to the development of the internet.
